Welcome!
I am excited to
share that HZ has a new ministry - the Daughters of Dorcas sewing
ministry. We will meet once a month with the purpose of spreading
God's love through various sewing projects. We will be partnering
with various organizations to make items for people in need.
We are kicking off
with an informational meeting on Tuesday, June 17 at 7:30pm. We will meet in Room 005 in the Adult Education Wing at HZUMC. We will go over our
vision, mission statement and what our first project will be. There will be light refreshments available. It should be a fairly short meeting- probably no more than half an hour.
Don't
worry if you can't make it- you can join us at any time!

We will begin
our monthly sewing nights on July 15 at 6:00pm in Room 005. We will
meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month after that. Please
bring your sewing machine, thread, scissors, and other essentials to
get sewing. We have a project already lined up and are eager to get
started!
Not much of a
seamstress?! You can still come and help with ironing, cutting and
stuffing! We would love to have you join us, we could even teach you
how to stitch.
If you aren't
able to join us, but would like to help us get started, please
consider donating some fabric (cotton/flannel- various colors and
patterns, scraps are good too), thread (any color), or
filling/stuffing. We will have a basket in the narthex labeled for
Daughters of Dorcas donations. We would also appreciate your prayers
for this brand new ministry!
